What do you think of...

...vampires and cat-people and werespiders, oh my?
I've been trying to be original with my characters in my less hammy, angsty vampire story, but I'm worried I've either taken it too far or not far enough. I mean, a werespider is rather original, but a cat-boy is just asking for trouble. Especially when the way he got to be part cat sounds like the setup for a bad joke. What do you all think?

I think that all three would work well in an over-the-top, comedy type of thing, but if you're going for something more serious, I would lose the cat-boy.

Also, I was wondering if the werespider is spider-size or human-size in its were-state.

It's a comedy-style thing that I'm maybe taking a bit too seriously.

The were-spider is pretty much human-sized. Everyone in the story is just a little bit freaked out by that fact. (I've sort of reflected my fear of spiders onto them.)

Hrm. Then I say keep the cat-boy and allow wackiness to ensue.

I really like spiders, but I think I'd be fairly freaked out by a human-sized one.

Yeah, I like spiders less and less as they get bigger and bigger.
