Don't Get Me Wrong; I Love the NaNo Peptalks

I think they're fantastic (I was especially fond of the one today from Lemony Snicket). But with a only week to go until the end of November, I thought some of us (me) could use some motivation that's a little more... agressive. Rhiannon deserves the credit for finding this; I'm just passing along the joy of her discovery. It actually applies to all writers at all times, but I think it's especially apt right now. So, without further adieu, a snippet of the Writer's Prayer by Chuck Wendig:

I am a writer, and I will finish the shit that I started.

I will not whine. I will not blubber. I will not make mewling whimpering cryface pissypants boo-hoo noises. I will not sing lamentations to my weakness.

If you want to read the whole thing (and you should, because it is both motivational and incredibly hillarious), you can do so here, on Terrible Minds.

Now I'm off to actually start working at my day(night)-job

Amen to that.

Actually, this was exactly what I needed. Exactly. These last 2600 words are staring at me, mocking me, from juuuuuust out of reach. But I am going to chase those fuckers down, no matter how much they squeal and run away while laughing in my face like particularly annoying little sisters. I am going to show them. I am going to finish this novel!
Thank you so much for linking this!

And on a completely different note...isn't the saying 'without further ado' rather than 'adieu'? 'Cause if it's actually 'adieu' I've been using it wrong for pretty much my whole life. >:D

Whatever...I suppose either work. I'm just nitpicking. >:)

E, I'm glad it helped. I'm still over 7000 words behind; I wish something would light a fire under my ass. Working on 4 hours of sleep atm and trying to find the motivation to stay up for at least three more hours and WRITE. PS, I love the description of your last 2600 words, and how they were running away.

Spoy, you're right, I looked it up. Your way makes a lot more sense, but had always thought it was the other one. Oh well.
